The Boy Scouts of America and the Wagon Wheel District strongly believes that every youth deserves a trained leader. Help deliver the Scout Promise by being a better trained leader. For more information about the dates for a particular course, please consult the training calendar or contact the district executive.Did you know that trained leaders recharter 18 percent more youth than an untrained leader? Parents expect to have their boys led by quality-trained leaders, and upon recruitment, we promise to train new leaders in their positions. To achieve this objective, the Boy Scouts of America have designed all new training sessions.
Fast Start orientation is the first step to assisting leaders. It is designed to immediately orient leaders to the Scouting role before their first meeting with youth. Next is Basic Leader Training, a two step process. Part I is designed for all volunteers and provides the basics of the Scouting programs, the age appropriateness of those programs and our values and methods. Part II is designed to present in-depth information for a new leader in a specific leadership position such as den leader, Scoutmaster, etc. For more information about these and the many supplemental training courses that are available see the courses page.
